You Are
Anonymous
One's life leads a man down
many paths.
Some are clear and well-travelled.
Others are overgrown and difficult to pass.
And still others have yet to be blazed altogether.
I'd be a fool to think that
I could do it alone.
And so, to my love and to my friends, I am grateful.
You are the shade tree on
a hot summer day.
You are the fire on an icy winter night.
You are the stars in the
dark night's sky.
You are the sunbeam on a drab, cloudy day.
You are the smile in sea
of unfamiliar faces.
You are a helping hand during times of need.
You are so much and so many
things.
You are you.
Thank you for all that you
are.
Lady Niima
by Shandrille Stormdaughter
In shimmering moonlight
caressing each wave,
In graceful red tendrils of anemone,
When gulls spread wide wings and mount to the sky,
Merciful goddess, Thy beauty we see.
In murmuring seashells,
and rippling waves' song,
When, within silence, the sea nymphs draw near,
And blend lovely voices with grieving sea wind,
Merciful goddess, Thy wisdom we hear.
When doomed folk are saved
by a force never seen
And kneel on the sand of the ocean's wide bank
And whisper their prayers beside the deep sea,
Merciful goddess, Thy caring we thank.
When sea winds form almost
the patterns of words,
When faces grow wondering, and quick footsteps slow,
And dolphins leap high in their patterns of joy,
Merciful goddess, Thy presence we know.
Adrift on the ocean, or
far from its shores,
The language of mercy's Thy kingdom's domain.
Whenever fear's quelled or rage backs down from blows
Merciful goddess, we bow to Thy reign.
