Fightin’ Words
by Commandant

Thoughts, half thoughts and mistruths. I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but Drizzsdt is the top fiter in the lands. Congratulations to him reaching Master of Arms by reaching skill master in every skill. Classy move by Kuromaku making him a drink, the piledriver, and his own corner in the Teras Guild.

But before we all get misty eyed over the big fella’s deeds, we must tell a few stories about him. When Drizzsdt was a wee one, he was quite the troublemaker you see. I asked a GameMaster about him and they said it was the damnest thing, at level 10, he had already adapted and become immune to stun clouds.

As far as his lovely sidekick, Jypsie, goes; I’m not saying she is from a backward village, but outside her town is a sign that reads, "Welcome to River’s Rest. No shirt, no shoes, no problem!"

Drizzsdt, being a great guy and all, wanted to help River’s Rest out somehow. You see, back then, they didn’t have a method to weigh things. Consequently, the townspeople always were suspicious that they weren’t getting a fair shake in other towns with their fancy scales.

Lo and behold, along came Drizzsdt. He and Jypsie put their heads together and made what is now known as the Drizzy Scale. While this feat of engineering never made it in the annals of Twilight Hall or anything else of note, here is how it worked.

According to Drizzsdt, they constructed a large scale and put the item they wanted to weigh on one end. He then proudly told me they filled the other side with rocks until it evened out just so. Then he looked me straight in the eye and told me that’s when they estimate the weight of the rocks.

It’s a little known fact that Drizzsdt also comes from a long line of sailors. His family was known for sailing to all ports and trading with other native groups. On Teras Isle, there is a large white "L" made of small painted rocks on the side of the volcano. I asked him about it once and he said his ancestors put it there to aid in their navigation. When I asked him what it stood for, he turned to me and said, "Land." I missed the rest of the story but he did mention that they have been working on a large "O" but it kept sinking. (note, if it’s not obvious, O stands for ocean)
